On Tuesday, December 17, 2013, GASTON XIV de GALARD de BÉARN, prince de VIANA, of Haymarket, VA passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Gaston was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris, France on the second of June 1939. He was born to Gaston XIII Ross de Galard de Béarn and Frances Georgette Moss and raised by his mother Frances and step-father Joseph Kelly. Gaston entered Georgetown University in 1957 and graduated from Fairfield University in Connecticut in 1961. He went to law school at American University and received his JD in 1964. Kennedy was the Counsel. Gaston later served as Senior Liaison, Government Affairs for the pharmaceutical firm of Hoffman La Roche for over 25 years. On retirement from Hoffman La Roche in 1996, he teamed with friends and formed the Washington Liaison Group, an independent legislative advocacy firm.

Gaston was a devout member and lector of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Middleburg, VA and St. Katherine Drexel Mission in Haymarket, VA for 34 years. Gaston was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution for over 25 years. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and husband and had a passion for travel and golf.

Gaston is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ann McCormick de Béarn and his children Céline Lewandowski, Gaston XV de Béarn, Marc de Béarn, Marie-Rose Howson, René de Béarn, Justin Harrell, and Colleen Young. He also sincerely loved his 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
